The time is here. Tarpon are here year round but the best numbers are inbetween cold fronts... just so happens we have 9 months with no cold fronts. The prime migration is beginning with the shift of the planet south and the water temps nearing the magic 79 degrees that triggers a massive biomass to move towards the spawning grounds.

Just a few days after the southern winds pushed back against a cold front and won the tarpon started flooding in along the channels and in the backcountry.
Permit Tourney and Tarpon Migration
This week marks the start of the MARCH MERKIN a permit on fly tournament started by the late great permit master Jon Ain! Bear is guiding in it as he has every year since the its inception! Wishing him and his angler the best of luck and my the sun come out!

Key West Tarpon Sailfish Fishing Report
As spring moves over the country the tarpon and sailfish move with it. Tarpon are flooding the Florida Keys backcountry and channels. Fly, artificial and live bait have all been generating bites and new profile pics. Bait is still very available and easy pickings for the skilled castnetter! #6 sibiki also are getting pilchards under chum! Best part is both tarpon and sailfish eat several of the same baits.
